After completing his education at the University of Louisville and passing the bar in May, 1979, Keith elected to embark on his legal career with a fellow UL alum as they opened Bond & Hamm in Elizabethtown, KY on June 5, 1979. They quickly started trying cases as a local public defender in Hardin County, resulting in a significant criminal practice. The following year, Keith found himself a solo practitioner but remained in Hardin County before he merged his practice with Larry D. Raikes until Larry became Judge of the Tenth Judicial District (Nelson/Larue/Hart). Keith enjoyed a short partnership thereafter but was a solo practitioner for most of the next 20 or so years. During his solo practice Keith worked with the Hardin County Attorney’s Office for twelve years as head of the criminal division.
Keith was introduced to the insurance defense practice in or about 1984, representing one particular company in and around Hardin County. He continued in that practice until 2001 when he joined the firm of Coleman, Lochmiller & Hall where he focused exclusively on an insurance defense practice. Shortly after arriving at CLB, he commenced concentrating on the representation of governmental entities while also representing other clients in more traditional defense work . He has continued for the past twenty plus years representing counties and their various entities, including sheriff departments, detention centers, fiscal courts and individual government employees. This area of practice has introduced Keith to numerous circuit courts throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky, along with all of its federal district courts. CLB dissolved in 2023 and Lochmiller Bond continued the litigation practice at its current location of 514 North Mulberry, Elizabethtown, Kentucky.
When not devoting time to the practice of law, Keith enjoys his priorities in life, church, family and community. He is an active member in his church and attempts to attend as many activities of his five (5) grandchildren as possible.
